Shoe seems to run a little big, especially as it will stretch a little with time. While I really ove the style, the insulated aspect seems to make the shoes much bulkier and they looked huge on my feet. Opted for the non-insulated version instead.
Small –
ankle was too tight would not zip up

My daughter has wide feet. These were too narrow. Couldn’t even get her foot in. Will look for a wide fit. Love Zappos though!

Great boots – love them for around the barn use! However, they are very tight on calves. If you have anything but *tiny* calves (I’m 5’5″, 130lbs, athletic, and my calves barefly fit) these boots might give you some trouble. They get really tight around my ankles. But otherwise wonderful boots!

These are boots are just what I needed for walking around cold or slushy city streets when full-on snow boots aren’t necessary. They look great, fit great and the insulation gives them some warmth. I had also tried a similar boot from Dansko (Brianne) which I also liked but it was a bit to tight to wear with heavy socks since it came in a size 7.5/8 and I’m more of an 8.

I love these boots. Very well made, very comfortable, and look nice. Fit is a little tight around ankles but I like it- makes my foot and ankle feel more stable.

I just received 3 different boots ordered just days ago. I love this boot, fit perfect. Would love to keep it but the other 2 boots won out. Do I really need a third new pair? ugh decisions…

These boots came up higher than I’m used to for a paddock boot, which meant they were already hitting some of my calf muscle. When they were zipped up, it was uncomfortably tight around the top.

Hits my shin in an uncomfortable way.

I have been wearing this style of boot for the past 6 years. Granted a I buy a new pair every 12 to 18 months but I actually wear the boots 7 days a week approximately 8 hours a day. They are great in the summer/winter. They have never leaked and the zipper has always worked. The only reason I need new ones is I have basically worn them out.

I really love these paddock boots I just wish they lasted longer but the leather cracks after about 6 months of waring every day. I’m on my third pair in three years

I have been buying Ariat paddock boots for decades. They are so comfortable and break in easily. Like putting on a pair of slippers!
Sbenno –
Top of the boot is too roomy. This will just end up with hard creasing of the leather. I returned them.

Bought a pair of the boots and had the stitching on toe cap come undone within 2 months. I’ve worn Ariats for years and the quality and durability of your boots has declined substantially.

Loyal fan of Ariat . I have the Nitro waterproof zip up paddock boots and loved them . I bought these for winter to keep my feet warm . I am a true 9 in Ariats (9.5 in sneakers ). This boot ran big , also the top of the foot area ( where the zipper is ) had too much room , my foot moved around too much and I had foot pain after a short walk through the house . Was not a fan of this boot . I’ll look for an alternative for winter .

I wish Ariat wouldn’t change an excellent product. I used up my last pair and ordered these for next winter. There is no reflective strip on the back! That’s important to this winter paddock boot. But my other ask is to bring back the lower shaft.
The previous iteration had a softer, padded shaft that scalloped lower at the back of the ankle. This new style really rubs at the back of the leg! I’m returning my most recent pair for that reason.
If you’re in breeches and tall socks all the time, it’s not so bad. But this is a winter paddock with Thinsulate. People wear it with long pants and half chaps to ride in. We wear it to town with jeans to run errands in rain and snow; we do chores in it. The tall, snug shaft makes it impractical to wear with anything besides breeches.
Ariat is now marketing its products to the general public, not just ranchers and equestrians. It would make sense to offer a boot that is just as comfy to wear in the city and to work in a heated building as it is to wear in the barn. It makes sense to offer a streetwear version of this boot and sell thousands more each winter. The previous version was that type of boot. This new one is just a riding paddock with insulation. Yawn.

Two weeks in and I’m disappointed with how they are wearing out. The toes are scruffed and raw from just walking around snowy fields. I understand the leather is supple, but I expected more for the price. I would rate them lower but they fit true to size and are comfortable.

I returned these because they were stiff and I didn’t want to break them in as the height of the boot I think would be uncomfortable. They come up higher than other booties and the top of the boot width is narrow and may be too tight for some people.

Keep my feet warm and dry. Love them!! Fit perfectly.

High quality, room for warm socks, but stiff ankle really specialized for riding and not that comfortable for daily use

Ariat boots are my go to because of the safety and all day comfort. This is my 3rd pair in 16 years and I wear them alot. When I’m at the barn training they keep my feet protected and the steel shank keeps my feet and back from hurting after hours on my feet. These boots are honestly the most comfortable, long wearing shoe I’ve ever owned. That’s why I get Ariat riding boots, they’re just the best at letting me do my horse thing in all seasons and I don’t have to worry about cold or wet or sore feet, I just focus on my horse.

This is the first waterproof, insulated pair that I have ever bought – I love my regular leather Ariat paddock boots but these are so much better for cool/cold weather and I love the waterproof leather!

I’ll start by saying that I have a narrow foot and a narrow heel. My shoe size is 8 1/2 narrow otherwise known as 8 1/2 AA. When it comes to boots and booties not made in a narrow width, I can sometimes wear a medium width by going down a half size and wearing a thick sock. As soon as I took these booties out of the box I could tell they wouldn’t work for me. The 8 medium (B width) is massive and heavy. Trying them on was further confirmation that the Ariat Heritage IV Zip Waterproof Insulated Bootie would not work for me.
